They have a comprehensive program that is putting Tablet PCs in the hands of their students and more importantly giving them the skill sets needed to maximize the benefits that students can derive from using Tablet PCs. They have recently published an article that provides a lot of online resources for developing good note taking skills and leveraging that on the Tablet PC. The article also discusses the need for good time management skills and how important online research is to students today. This is an excellent blog and highly recommended for anyone interested in maximizing the Tablet PC experience in education.

Microsoft has released the Experience Pack for the Tablet PC (English language only) and all Tablet owners should grab this now. The Pack brings six programs and every one is a winner. The new Snipping Tool has been anxiously awaited for a while and it is just a joy to use. Great interface and the functionality is exactly right, at least for me. Ink Desktop gives you the ability to add ink notes right on the desktop where it is available for constant reference. Ink Art is a full painting on canvas type of program and Art Rage users will recognize the roots of this program. Ink Crossword is a crossword puzzle program that uses the interface of the Tablet PC to perfection and features a daily downloadable puzzle. Media Transfer makes it easy to keep your Tablet PC filled with photos, music and video from other computers on your network. The Energy Blue desktop theme has been available for a while but Microsoft has added a great Windows Media Player skin to the theme that not only looks good but works well with the pen of the Tablet. I have been using these tools for a while and they are every one a real winner so what are you waiting for? Go get it!

<itunes:summary>TrustedReviews has published a thorough review [1]of the Fujitsu T4010 Tablet PC that has been in the news a lot recently. They cover the Fujitsu with lots of photos and benchmarks and is a good place to look if you are interested in this capable Tablet PC. Unfortunately, it appears the unit they reviewed did not have the high resolution that Fujitsu recently announced was available for the T4010. Good look at this workhorse so take a peak.

Keep your podcatcher warmed up this week as there are a couple of fun things in store for you listeners. The next full TabletPC Show with guest co-host Marc Orchant is in post production and should be out in the next day or two. Marc and I had a lot of fun doing the show and I think you’ll like the results.

There is also a special edition of the show that should appear this week that you will enjoy. I did a short show with two guests- Cameron Reilly of TPN (you know him) and Matt Fox-Wilson of Ambient Design. Ambient is the development company in New Zealand that produces the amazing program for the Tablet PC, Art Rage. In case you missed it Art Rage was voted #1 in the Microsoft developer’s contest “Does your app think in ink”? Ambient’s first place finish in that competition netted them a check for a cool $100,000 so it was a very big deal and well deserved. Listen to the interview to hear Cam and I fawn all over Matt and his incredible program. :)

So check back often for these next two shows- they’re worth the wait.

First of all I would like to thank all the listeners from the first show for their comments and suggestions. This show is your show and I am listening to the feedback to make changes as we go that will help us provide an even better show!

Let me give you a status update as I know many of you are wondering where the next show is and why it hasn’t appeared for download yet. Last week I suffered a back injury that has resulted in my spending the better part of a week flat on my back. It’s nothing major- I’m just one of those unlucky people who have been cursed with having back problems over the years. I am getting better and am much more mobile than I have been the past week so I hope to resume recording the show in the next couple of days.

This leads me to a big announcement for the Tablet PC Show- I am happy to announce the addition of a guest co-host for the next few shows. Marc Orchant, master blogger and Tablet PC enthusiast extrordinaire, will be joining me in hosting the show! Marc is the brainchild behind several major blogs, The Tablet PCs Weblog, The Office Weblog, Marc’s Outlook on Productivity, and who knows how many other blogs. Marc is an outspoken supporter of the Tablet PC and will be a most welcome addition to the show.

Please join me in welcoming Marc to The Tablet PC Show and get your MP3 players ready as we are going to be recording the next show in the next few days. As always, your comments are most appreciated!
