Welcome to episode 53 of the Tablet PC Show! I intended this to be a special episode with some guests, but technical problems prevented that from working out. We’ll do that episode in a couple of weeks or so.

News & Updates:

  • EverNote has a beta 2.0 version out that boasts some pretty cool new features. I know I’m going to be trying it out.
  • Want to experience the new Vista start menu on Windows XP? Try this out.
  • HP has announced their new tx1000 covertible Tablet PC which looks to be a very nice media machine.
  • Toshiba has likewise announced their new R100 convertible which has built-in EV-DO data access.
  • And Gateway updates their convertible line with the new CX210 which is priced at — are you sitting down? — $899!
  • Spectec has a new SD-based GPS unit which includes its own micro-SD card slot. Nice!
  • What exactly is “Vistagami”? We figure it out with the help of the Origami Project folks.
  • And what is coming up in Windows after Vista? It looks like some really BIG things!

    Hello i have a ppc6700 and i had my earpiece hooked up to it but when i took it out my phone want workin i couldnt hear anything unless i have the earpiece in. Please help me

    Hmmmm… I’m not sure, exactly. just to be safe, have you tried making sure that the volume is set properly for the built-in speaker? Can anyone hear you when using the phone? Finally, does the speakerphone option work at all?

    I’d try checking those things first. Then, I’d go ahead and take it in to a Sprint store. You might try calling your nearest one first, to see if they have a repair techician at that location (they don’t all have one). If you have their equipment protection plan, the repair should be free, otherwise you’ll have to spend some money to have the problem diagnosed, but if you end up having them fix it or replace the unit, they should apply the charge to the repair or replacement cost.
