Tablet PC Show #35

Welcome to episode 35 of the Tablet PC Show!
We jumpt right in this week to the…

News and Updates:

After the news, I relay some information gleaned in an entry over at OrigamiProject.com about the Microsoft TouchPack which is included with the UMPCs. It’s much more than just a new program launcher and DialKeys keyboard.

Next, I talk about an interesting car commercial I saw that made me think of marketing Tablet PCs and from there I tell the story of a meeting I was in where the Tablet PCs outnumbered the laptops. (I also tell of the problems a couple of the tablets were having…)

Then, I read an email from listener Jason from Memphis, who is having a severe problem with his tablet and is looking for a way to restore it. I give a couple of potential solutions and ask that anyone else who may have questions about their Tablet PC or tablets in general, send me an email with their question. If one person is having the problem or asking the question, there are probably many others who would benefit from the answer.

Following that, I do a short review of Tablet Enhancements for Outlook (TEO) version 3.0 which is currently in beta testing. It is a plug-in for Outlook that makes using the application with a pen much easier, but it’s also much more than that. It’s a full-featured note taking application that embeds itself in Outlook and can rival OneNote or other applications. (Tracy at The Student Tablet PC has been talking about this as well.)

Finally, I name UMPCBuzz.com as our site of the week.

Be sure to answer our poll question for this week, which involves what you’d like to hear on this podcast in the future.

And don’t forget that you can leave me a voicemail with your comments or questions right here.

Thanks for the show! Very interesting stuff. I would very much like to hear your take on Web 2.0 and other topics that may in any way impact Tablet Pcs without nessisarily being focused on the modality.
