Tablet PC Show #30
The Tablet PC Show #030 (MP3 - 10.6MB - 31 min)
Welcome to episode 30 of the Tablet PC Show! This time it’s just me; no co-host.
News and Updates:
What’s the deal with Microsoft’s upcoming Origami project? Is it a new Tablet? Just some new technology? We round-up the various rumors and bits of information available.
Next we discuss the new version of Box.net, a web-based file storage and backup solution that features a free service with 1GB of storage (but an interesting 5MB per-file size limit). The new version of the site is full of AJAXy goodness. Via sarahintampa.com.
We discuss Microsoft’s announced free VOIP service for Windows Mobile. Is it a cell phone killer? Will it be available on Tablet PCs? Would you want it on your Tablet PC??
Our last topic of this episode is the following question: Can Tablet PCs be good for your health?
The first possible anwser comes in the form of relief from tendonitis and repetitive stress injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome. Using a pen instead of a keyboard and mouse may provide relief, accoriding to a physical therapist.
The second answer comes through using your Tablet PCs to enhance workouts on a ProForm treadmill or other exercise equipment. The ProForm equipment can interact with a service at iFit.com which you can run on your Tablet PC.
Here are a couple of screenshots of iFit workouts in progress:

In summary, the answer to the question is Yes! A Tablet PC can actually be good for your health.
Wrapping up, I gave out the Poll Question of the Week, which is: At what point do you forego using your Tablet’s pen and use the keyboard?
Take the poll here.
Finally, the Site of the Week. : GottaBeMobile.com, a new site by Microsoft MVPs Rob Bushway and Dennis Rice.
Next episode: Ways to use dual (or more) monitors with your tablet or to share a keyboard and mouse between multiple systems.
